Want to eat right & feel amazing?
It’s true; if you eat right, you will feel amazing.
If you’re looking for a post that’s about losing weight, this is not for you.
This post is for you if you want to know what foods to eat and which will leave you feeling energized, fresh-faced, and healthier.
Here’s why I can guarantee the foods below will help energize you, lift your spirits, and help you get healthier.
Four years ago, I weighed 197 pounds. Now, I weigh 148 pounds… that’s almost 50 pounds lost and since then, I’ve manage to maintain that weight off.
There was no yo-yo dieting involved or heavy exercising. In fact, I suffer from asthma, so exercising is dreadful for me.
The real truth to my weight loss all started with changing my diet. No, I didn’t completely remove my favorites like pizza or burgers, I just opted to eat those items less frequently.
Diet Changes that Brought Tons of Benefits
- I have more energy to clean up toys
- I can do a dozen loads of laundry each week without feeling drained
- No more hormonal mood swings
- Migraines are gone
- My joints don’t ache
- My skin feels smoother, more hydrated, and looks more youthful
- The sex drive has been reinvigorated
- Because of all the positives, I make better choices
6 Foods So You Can Eat Right and Feel Amazing!
Eating isn’t the only thing worth mentioning. In this list, you’ll also find some key beverages to boost energy and metabolism.
Antioxidant and Disease Preventative
Blueberries are a natural antioxidant super food. Eating these will help lower your risks for heart disease and cancer.
Sounds pretty good, right? How about promoting anti-inflammation, as well?
That’s right! Blueberries can help reduce inflammation from pesky, old sports injuries or even for milder cases of arthritis.
According to Science Daily, eating 150g of blueberries daily reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to a whopping 15 per cent.
That’s a pretty amazing feat and a huge benefit for heart patients.
2. Lemon Water
Metabolism and Energy Booster
Why is Lemon Water touted as a natural energy booster? It’s simple.
There are real benefits to eating lemons and drinking water. So, it’s no wonder why combining these two, results in mega benefits.
Lemons are an excellent source of Vitamin C. Combining them with water not only makes the water flavorful, but also promotes hydration.
Vitamin C is also an anti-aging agent. By adding lemons to water, you are literally drinking from your very own fountain of youth.
Lemons also have something called Polyphenol antioxidants – this antioxidant compound has been shown in research to promote weight loss, cause better insulin resistance, and to offset the negative impacts on blood glucose.
Warning: Lemon water contains citric acid. Drink too much of it, and it could erode your tooth enamel or cause heartburn.
Omega Fatty Acids
Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines, Cod, and several others are great options for taking in some rich omega fatty acids. Why are fish, rich with omega fatty acids, good for you?
For one thing, they are a heart healthy food choice. They help lower triglycerides and blood pressure, help to reduce the risk of heart disease, and even to reduce the risk of blood clotting.
This is all according to the Mayo Clinic. So, how much should you eat?
The Mayo Clinic says that adults should aim to eat approximately 8 ounces a week. But be sure to watch out for how fish are prepared. The Mayo Clinic says, “… grilling, broiling or baking is a healthier option than is deep-frying.”
4. Dark Green Leafy Veggies
Vitamins A, C, E, and K, Folate, B-vitamins.. etc.
There are so many green vegetables out there, so how does one know which ones are better for you?
While they all offer their own nutrients, some offer more than others. Dark leafy green veggies are in that category. Think spinach or kale.
Studies have shown that eating 2 to 3 servings of green leafy vegetables per week may lower the risk of stomach, breast and skin cancer. That’s an amazing feat for a plant, but it’s not the only benefit.
According to the USDA, dark leafy greens contain high levels of fiber, magnesium, folate, B vitamin, Vitamins A, C, E, K, iron, potassium, and calcium.
As if that’s not enough, they’re also low in calories and carbohydrate content, which is great for people trying to maintain a low glycemic index.
5. Dark Chocolate
The Pleasure Food
Chocolate is something that I could never eat and that’s because I’d always end up with acne on my face.
That’s before I learned that a Snickers wasn’t the right kind of chocolate I should be eating. There’s a right kind of chocolate?
If you suffer with Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, or even PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) like I do, then yes, there is a chocolate you should aim to eat and that’s Dark Chocolate.
People who consume a square or two of dark chocolate of at least 70% cocoa saw reductions of stress, satisfied cravings, lower BMI, and even tricked the brain into feeling pleasure.

Lose Weight and Keep Heart Healthy
Remember that saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”? Not sure how true that is, but an apple a day really does something for your health.
Apples contain pectin and their known benefits offer to strengthen hair and nails, promote gut health, and may even enhance iron absorption.
Pectin is often found in high fiber diets and used to resolve constipation and digestive issues. It can also promote weight loss, lower cholesterol, and even fight diabetes all on a natural level.
You can find this special nutrient in other fruits too, like guava, plums, oranges and pears. If you’re a vegan, you’ll be happy to learn that pectin is plant-based, so you can eat foods that contain it.
