Parents want the best for their children, and one of the most important things they can do is make sure that their child gets enough nutrition. It’s not always easy to know how much food your child needs. Here are some tips on making sure you’re providing them with all of the essential nutrients they need:

1) Make Sure Your Kids Eat Breakfast Daily

A nutritious breakfast is a perfect way to start your child’s day off right. It provides them with the energy they need to get through their morning classes, homework, and extracurricular activities. Skipping breakfast can leave kids feeling tired and irritable throughout the day.

There are plenty of healthy breakfast options that your kids will love. Some ideas include oatmeal, whole-wheat toast with peanut butter or avocado, scrambled eggs, yogurt parfait, and fresh fruit.

If your children are resistant to eating breakfast in the morning, try setting a rule that they must eat something before leaving for school. This will help ensure that your child gets the nutrition they need to stay energized all day long.

2) Include Vegetables in Every Meal

Your kids need vegetables for good health. In fact, including vegetables in almost every meal is a great way to ensure that they are getting the nutrition they need. Serve them cooked or raw as part of a dish or on the side as finger foods – either way, your kids will love them!

Some easy vegetable dishes to try include steamed broccoli, roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon bits, oven-baked sweet potato fries, and simple mixed greens salad.

Be sure to vary the types of vegetables you serve so that your child gets different nutrition value. For example, dark leafy greens are high in vitamins A and C, while cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, are packed with cancer-fighting antioxidants.

3) Give Them Healthy Desserts

Give your children a delicious dessert that is healthy for them. This ensures they get the nutrition needed to grow up strong and smart! You can even make it fun by letting them help you decorate it.

The key here is to pick healthy items things like a berry-licious yogurt parfait, a healthy carrot cake, sugar-free chocolate pudding, or honeydew melon chunks drizzled with honey. These are all great examples of foods containing high amounts of healthy nutrients without taking away from the ‘sweetness’ factor.

If your child doesn’t love foods like the above, then try this trick. Dip healthy foods into their favorite stuff, like chocolate, before graduating over time towards more nutritious options.

4) Provide Healthy Snacks

When it comes to packing snacks for your kids, fresh fruits and vegetables are always good choices. Try this little hack for those busy days. Pack ziplock snack bags filled with fruit and vegetables for on-the-go ease. Or put some yogurt squeezes into a bottle cooler bag for the kid who doesn’t like veggies.

Either way, these are great healthy choices, which means they’ll help keep your kids satisfied until their next meal. They’re relatively easy to transport, so you can bring them with you just about anywhere, including parks, beaches, and museums.

The Takeaway

Making sure our kids eat healthy, is necessary for any parent and that’s because we love doing it. Here’s to growing healthy and strong kids!
