Lately, I’ve been getting a ton of Instagram messages asking me how I built my parenting blog, what apps I use, and how I protect it legally. And while I am a fan of sharing, these questions deserve to be answered individually. That’s because they require intricate responses. Today, I’m sharing great tips on how to protect your blog legally.

When I first started my blog, I knew nothing about making my blog legal. It took a ton of research, hours of reading, a bunch of phone calls to my attorney and several thousands of dollars later. Only to realize, that I didn’t have to go through all of that. It could have been so much simpler to make my blog legal with just a few clicks and a trustworthy blogger sharing how to do it.

Alas, that was not my journey. But, I’m here to make your blogging journey so much easier than mine!

The information I’m about to share with you, will set you up real nice in the blogging world. It’ll help protect you AND your blog.

Now, let’s dive right in!

Why Does My Blog Need Legal Protection

As bloggers, we have a ton of clout with our readers. What we say, our reviews, and our articles can sway a reader to change their opinions on products, services, & brands. We also outsource a great deal of work, in our blogging business, to freelancers.

Add all of that up, on top of the fact that our sites collect information from readers — like email opt-ins, and this will bring you to the conclusion that our blogging businesses need legal protection.

The best way to start protecting your blogging business is by having an LLC Operating Agreement, assuming you’ve gotten an LLC for your business. If you haven’t yet, that’s okay, because you’ll still need these templates for when you do.

And if you’re debating on whether you need to get an LLC… STOP!

You 100% definitely need an LLC, at minimum, to operate a business AND protect yourself legally.

Moving forward…

Here are a few of the extra basic agreements that you’ll need for your blogging business:

(a) Terms and Conditions

(b) Privacy Policy

(c) Affiliate Agreement

(d) Disclaimer

(e) Independent Freelance Contract

(f) Sponsored Content Agreement

(g) Media Release

(h) Freelancer Legal Bundle

(i) Comprehensive Legal Bundle

(j) Coaching Agreement

(k) Guest Blogger Agreement

(l) Blogger Legal Bundle

(m) ADA & WCAG Compliance Bundle

And so much more, depending on your blog and niche!

This is a good time to check-in with you. If you want to skip the content below, then be my guest. That’s why I was sure to include the direct links to each template I’m about to speak on and a few more I recommend, above. This way, you can get right down to business and order your individual templates. But if you want to stay and see what else I am sharing, then keep reading, because there’s a world more to grab!

Now, where was I? Oh yeah… where do you get these templates from and how do you grab more templates in a bundle package deal? A Self Guru is the site to visit and her name is Amira. She’s a fantastic attorney, and has several different bundle packages for the people who are serious about protecting their business.

Sure, you can pay another attorney to write all of these contracts up for you OR you can use the site that I and many other bloggers have used to get started, for a fraction of the cost.

What’s your choice gonna be?

Let’s chat a bit more about each template and package, and see if you’re still debating on what to do to protect your blog legally. Take a look at these:

#1 Disclaimer Template

A disclaimer helps your site avoid lawsuits and limits your liability. By not having a disclaimer for your blog, you are leaving yourself open to lawsuits any time you refer a product or service that causes someone to suffer negative results/outcomes.

So, doesn’t it make sense to have this Disclaimer Template in your blogging toolkit? The best part… This is a “Fill in the Blanks” template created by an attorney. It really is that simple!

Because bloggers like you and myself are a kind of influencer, it’s super important to get this template on our blogs. Anything we say can be reason for a lawsuit. And in my honest opinion, it’s better to be protected than not. So grab your disclaimer template right HERE, and pay a fraction of the cost for it than if you had an attorney do it for you!

#2 Independent Freelance Contract Template

This contract is important for your blog if you intend to hire freelancers and if you want to be hired as a freelancer. It gives you protection from liability as well as lawsuits. Contracts like this one, drawn up by other attorneys, can cost you upwards of $1,000.

Trust me, I should know, because the very first freelance contract I ever had was done by my former attorney and it was unbelievably expensive. It cost me my entire first earnings as a blogger, which was literally $1,200!

It was the most ridiculous cost my blogging business had incurred. When I found the VIP Legal Bundle that Amira offers on her site, and saw the amazing deal, I knew it was time to kick myself in the booty!

Naturally, I bit the bullet and invested in my blogging business. I haven’t looked back since. That’s because the VIP Legal Bundle I got, was a total game changer for my blogging business!

#3 Blogger Legal Bundle

Every blog needs this legal bundle, no joke! And you’re about to learn why.

Ever wonder how you hire freelancers to write on your site? Have you ever considered using someone else’s photos or media, and wasn’t sure how to legally do that? Want to get paid for posting sponsored content? Or make sure your guest bloggers are complying with your brand guidelines & copyright laws?

The Blogger Legal Bundle, packages each of these legal templates into one low priced package! You will walk away with a sense of relief and your blog will be so much better protected.

Forget about the uncertainty with hiring freelancers and grab this bundle while Amira is offering her limited-time only deal, on packages. Remember, the point of blogging is not just to write, but to earn some great income, too. The best way to do this is to make your blog legal.

Once you take action and purchase this bundle, you’ll sleep so much better at night knowing that you’ve protected your blog and it is less likely to be sued.

#4 Guest Blogging Template

When I first started blogging, I couldn’t figure out how I’d find the time to write 15 articles a day, every day, especially as a mother of four! So, I started researching how other big time online publications managed to pump out constant content.

What I found was that many of the more successful bloggers and online publications, outsourced their work to freelance writers, using sites like Fiverr and Upwork. Then I also found that many used social media to recruit guest bloggers.

My two favorite sites to do this are Instagram and Twitter, because they have some amazing influencers and bloggers that are thirsty for guest blogging opportunities.

Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to include an article on that topic in the blogging business series.

Anyway, I had no idea how to pitch these influencers and bloggers to write for my little site. I also didn’t know how to make sure that it was legit and legal. So, I researched for many more days and yes, as the story goes, I paid an attorney over a grand for my very first freelance contract. But that contract didn’t cover anything about guest bloggers or writing guidelines or copyright retainment, etc. And that’s why I needed Amira’s Guest Blogger Agreement.

It took the guess work out of having to reinvent the freelance contract that I had already purchased. Now, I’m here letting you know as a fellow blogger… purchasing this template will be the best decision you ever make to protect your blog legally!

My little blog (less than a year ago), went from having zero guest bloggers and me feeling lucky enough to publish stale content once a week, to having more than a hundred guest bloggers and freelancers publishing on my site, 3 to 5 times per day! That’s all thanks to a great pitch (which I’ll get to in my next article in the blogging business series) and this Guest Blogger Agreement Template.

#5 Sponsored Content Agreement Template

So, you’re a blogger and you blog about things! You and I are a lot alike. We blog and we blog often, about anything, really. Anything that suits our writing tastebuds from opinions on political news to new restaurants’ menus to film reviews, and a great deal more!

But this incessant blogging leads to something crazy… Income!!!

That’s right. Most bloggers will tell you that they’ve been paid by brands and companies to write sponsored content.

But how does a blogger ensure that the pay is fair, paid on time, and paid for the appropriate value that we deem is appropriate? The answer is a Sponsored Content Agreement – another document that is important to help you protect your blog.

With a Sponsored Content Agreement, both you and the brand know exactly what is expected of each other. There are no surprises. You know exactly how much you will be paid for your time, effort and post. Plus, the brand/company knows exactly what they’re getting from you with the post you provide them. It’s super easy and effective!

Don’t keep sitting in the dark on this one. This is definitely a must-buy-right-now for your blogging business to succeed and keep growing. Having this in your blogging arsenal, lets brands and companies know that you are a serious business owner and you deserve every penny you earn.

Don’t wait another second. Grab this Sponsored Content Agreement and start using it to pitch even more sponsored content opportunities. Make 2022 your most profitable year yet!

The Takeaway

You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to protect your blog legally. You can do it all by choosing to work with Amira. One of the best parts about choosing to work with A Self Guru & Amira, is that she offers so many bonus legal templates, that if purchased separately, have a value of thousands and thousands of dollars!

That’s just crazy, considering I paid less than a thousand bucks, for every single contract I could ever need. And I did that with the help of Amira’s VIP Legal Bundle.

Plus, Amira offers bloggers the ability to make that expense back, as an affiliate!

So, what’s not to love about it?

And in case you’re wondering what other templates you’d have access to, allow me to give you a small preview.

I said earlier that my one freelance contract cost me $1,200 bucks. Well, that was just for one contract. When I switched to using Amira’s VIP Legal Bundle, I not only received the Freelance Contract, I also received several bonus templates including but not limited to: the LLC Operating Agreement, the Media Release Agreement, the Sponsored Content Agreement, and so many more! I couldn’t believe it. What a savings!
