Pay Scale For Independent Freelance Writers

UPDATED:  May 31, 2023.

Any article that has already been approved and accepted prior to September 9, 2022, regardless of their upcoming publication dates, will be honored with the previous pay scale that was agreed upon between Atomic Mommy and the Independent Freelance Writer, via signed contracts. All contracts and offers of pay beginning September 9, 2022 and forward, will be using the pay scale below. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

NOTE:  All payments will be made on the 15th or 30th of the following month, after publication. Cut-off will be 11:59PM EST on the 14th and 29th of said month. For example: If your article goes live on November 14th at 11:59PM, you will be paid December 15th. If your article goes live November 15th at 12:01AM, you will be paid on December 30th. If your article goes live on December 1st at 12:01AM, you will be paid January 15th.

Pay Scale

500 words to 1,000 words = $50

We only make payments via PayPal, Venmo, or Paper Check and only on the set dates listed above, after publication of your article. Not before that. It is the freelancer’s responsibility to make sure their payment details are up to date. We are not responsible for lost payments OR failed payments.

*NOTE

All articles, pitches, and projects must go through the full review process: first to the Editor, and then to Editor-in-Chief, prior to receiving approval, offer of payment, and contract. Please allow our team a period of review of between 4-6 weeks to respond back to you.

If you do not receive an offer of acceptance, assume we are not interested. Do not send us a friendly reminder. Do not send us more than one pitch per period of review. No offer of payment will be honored without a signed contract for each individual written work.

All submissions are made so, under the direct understanding that if accepted, will be edited by our team. Atomic Mommy retains all rights to all articles published on our site. Please visit our Write For Us page to gain a full picture of what is expected by our brand.
