Organising your jewellery collection might not be at the top of your priority list, but trust us when we say that it will make everyday life so much easier! It shouldn’t take too long but is so worth it, as it will be really satisfying and will also help you to keep all of your jewellery in the best condition possible. To help you get started, we’ve curated an easy list of tips for organising so you can get all of your jewellery organised!

First let’s talk about why organizing your jewellery is so beneficial.

Why is Organizing Jewellery Important?

Organizing your jewellery collection offers a myriad of benefits that can greatly enhance your daily life. Firstly, by carefully sorting and arranging your jewellery, you can easily rediscover treasured pieces and breathe new life into your accessorizing routine. This renewed accessibility to your jewellery allows you to effortlessly elevate any ensemble, whether it’s a casual day look or a formal evening attire, ultimately boosting your confidence and style. Moreover, organized jewellery is less prone to damage or tangling, ensuring that each piece remains in optimal condition, ready to complement your outfits at a moment’s notice.

Furthermore, a well-organized jewellery collection can streamline your daily routine, saving precious time and reducing stress. With clear visibility and easy access to your jewellery, you can efficiently choose the perfect pieces to complete your outfit without the frustration of untangling knots or rummaging through cluttered drawers. This improved efficiency extends to travel as well, as organized jewellery allows for seamless packing and ensures that your favorite accessories arrive at your destination unscathed. Overall, the benefits of organizing your jewellery collection extend beyond aesthetics, contributing to a more organized, convenient, and enjoyable everyday experience.

Take Everything Out and Sort Into Piles

The first and best thing for organising your jewellery collection is to take everything out and sort it into piles. Get a tray or something, then take your jewellery out of its box and sort it into sections. We would recommend first sorting it into the type of jewellery, so put all of your rings together, your stud earrings, tragus earrings, your dangly earrings, your earring charms, your bracelets, your necklaces, and so on and so forth! We find that this is the easiest way to organise your jewellery, as you can think about what your outfit is missing and then pick your accessories based on that.

At this point, you should also make sure that everything is detangled and still in good condition. If anything needs to be repaired, you can take it to a jeweller to be fixed, or if it needs a good wash then you can do that or again, take it to a jeweller if the piece is more delicate. Now that you have everything in one place, you can start to consider your storage.

Consider Your Storage

One of the best tips for organising your jewellery is considering your home storage options. You want to have some hanging space for your bracelets and necklaces, a section for your rings and then also your earrings. Of course, if you have any other particular jewellery, make sure your storage solution has a place for it. You could get a combination of different jewellery storage, such as a stand with holes in it for your earrings and then separate for everything else. We really like jewellery storage that allows you to see everything, as if you have everything cramped up in one area, you will likely forget about beautiful pieces that you own, plus they often get damaged which of course we don’t want!

The most important thing to remember is to choose storage that will protect your jewellery from dust and also stop anything from getting damaged by rubbing together. Any kind of material lined storage works well! Whilst we’re on the topic, make sure that none of your jewellery is exposed to moisture or extreme changes in heat, as this can cause damage over time. Jewellery storage is really great because you can find a suitable solution no matter whether your budget is £5 or £500, and you will find that it makes everyday so much easier and quicker when you’re picking out your accessories.

Have A Travel Case

One of our last tips for organising jewellery is to make sure you have a travel case to keep your jewellery nice and organised as you travel. This is a great travel tip, you can get these for really cheap and they are a small jewellery case with a zip and a felt lining, so you can carefully place the jewellery you want to take away with you in the travel case and you know it will get there safely. The last thing you want is to arrive on holiday with damaged or tangled jewellery, so this will make sure everything is sorted for you. Investing in a travel case for your jewellery is so worth it for the amount of money that it could save you in the future.

Final Thoughts

Organising your jewellery collection might be a challenge, but once you’ve done it, you will feel so much better for it! Take your time to do this right and you will reap the benefits for years to come. Prepare for your mornings or evenings to get much easier when you’re heading out the house, plus you are likely to fall in love with accessorising all over again, whether you’re styling evening gowns or streetwear, as it becomes so much easier when you have everything out in front of you! This process can also inspire you to wear pieces you haven’t in years. So, if we haven’t already inspired you, there’s no better time than now to use these simple tips for organising your jewellery collection, so get ready to start sorting!
